Supporting the above engineering processes, NCWSC has well equipped laboratory facilities to analyze the quality of water at different stages of treatment and distribution in order to ensure that it the required standards set by World Health Organization (WHO), Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS).
There are other large consumer organizations which frequently test our water at various public water points.
NCWSC laboratory staff routinely ensures safety of water through the following:
- Collection and analysis of raw water samples to ascertain what impurities it contains for them to determine the amount of chemical required.
- Collection and analysis of the final treated water to ensure that it has been adequately treated and meets the following criteria;
- There are no harmful living organisms in the water.
- The water is acceptable to the human senses i.e colourless, tasteless and odourless.
- Adequate and balanced chemicals to ensure that disinfection will continue during water distribution.
- The water contains no harmful toxins or chemicals.

Visits to our Facilities, Dams and Treatment Works
The Company accommodates scheduled visits to the Dams, Treatment Plants, Laboratories and other facilities with prior written consent from interested groups.
