Nairobi City County Public Investment Committee recently toured a section of company installations for a fact-finding mission. The Committee visited the Headquarters, Kabete Treatment Works, Loresho reservoir and Ngethu Treatment Works.
The objective of the tour was to enable the committee to see first- hand investments the company has put in place including the current state of operations and be briefed on the procedures the utility employs in carrying out its investment and financing activities as well carry out verification of the inventories.
The tour culminated in a workshop to review the outcomes of the visit and have the Company give the highlights on the benefits it has achieved in its various investments.
The Internal Audit and Risk Management Director Griffins Songole did a presentation to the members on the general overview of the Internal Audit and Risk Management Directorate, guiding policies and procedures, Auditor General’s findings versus Internal audit, ethics and integrity and strategic plan implementation.
The Chair of the Committee Hon. Stazo Elijah Omunga’ala thanked the Company for the organizing a fruitful field visits. “We are grateful for the tour. We hope that the positive working relations developed shall be enhanced to ensure it is mutually beneficial.” He said.
The Select Committee on Public Investments mandated amongst others to examine the reports and accounts of the county public investments and to make sure they are managed in accordance with sound financial or business principles and prudent commercial practices.
