The Company has been incorporated in the regeneration of Nairobi program, an inter-governmental relations initiative between the National Government and the County of Nairobi.
The Nairobi Regeneration program aims at revitalize the national capital by focusing on seven key priority areas. These are: Governance, public safety and security, environment, water and sanitation, wealth and job creation, social inclusion, city transport, housing and human settlement as well as education and health.
The Company is playing a key role on realization of the pillar on environment, water and sanitation through upgrade and rehabilitation of water and sewer networks across the city with the overall goal of ensuring provision of adequate and reliable water and sanitation services to all the city residents.
The National Government has prioritized four key development agendas namely food security, universal health care, affordable housing and manufacturing. To achieve these development objectives, provision of adequate and reliable water and sanitation services is considered a key enabler. Other measures the Company is undertaking include: improving water supply to communities and institutions by supplying plastic water tanks to schools and health facilities; exploitation of ground water sources by operationalizing boreholes, extension and rehabilitation of sewers, construction of ablution blocks in informal settlements among other interventions.
