NCWSC was pleased to witness the commissioning of a borehole project at NHC Lang’ata by H.E Hon. Johnson Sakaja. The project was initiated to boost water supply to serve 1,260 households in NHC with a population of about 6, 300 people. Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director, Eng. Lucy Njambi – Technical Director thanked the County Government for the continuous support extended to the Company. “It is worth mentioning that the Water Police Unit has been of immense assistance to the company, areas that were not receiving adequate supply with full pressure are now able to get water”, she said.
The Governor lauded the efforts to improve water supply to residents of Nairobi and asked that the County Government and NCWSC work closely to ensure equitable supply. “Nairobi City County will work closely with the Ministry of Water to ensure that the Nairobi gets adequate supply as the Capital City and major business hub for the country.” The borehole was commissioned on Monday 7th August, 2023. The Governor was accompanied by Deputy Governor Hon. Njoroge Muchiri, Lang’ata MP Felix ‘Jalas’ Oduor, NCWSC Board Members Oscar Omoke (Chief officer -Water and Sanitation), Johnstone Mukabwa, Cedric Alaro and Hon Robow Hassan.
